3. EDUCATION

* Dinh Thien Ly School (Lawrence S. Ting school)

The 10 million USD Dinh Thien Ly School is an educational project that takes priority in investment by Phu My Hung Corp. Located on Nguyen Duc Canh Street, the school is built on an area of two hectares out of 7.8 hectares of land of the approved Saigon South International school (SSIS) campus. The school offers modern educational facilities equipped specially for Vietnamese students. The first school year has already started from September 2008 for the sixth and the tenth grades.

Facilities: Modern facilities of international standards include laboratory, computer rooms, language laboratory, library, playground, swimming pool, art rooms and dancing room to lighting system, tables and private lockers. All classrooms are air-conditioned, equipped with internet access, television, and projectors to facilitate the most effective teaching and learning

Methodology:

The new methodology encourages creativity, motivation and initiatives as well as self-realization and self-reliance. The students are equipped with knowledge that helps them with the self-confidence to approach the world and become useful residents of the society.

Curricula

With the target of educating Vietnamese students, the Lawrence S. Ting School develops a special curriculum for its students based on the programs that are regulated by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training. Besides the regulated subjects, students are trained in extra-curricular activities as those in developed countries. English, Chinese and computer skills are some of the focus. There are also some optional subjects; the students can choose the ones that are suitable to their aptitudes. The students can also have regularly cultural exchanges with American based Saigon South International school students; have opportunities to attend summer classes, and international conferences, specially held for them.
