Phu My Hung Spring Flowers Festival 2018
THEME: SPRING LOVE OF THE RIVERS
Restore Nha Be of the old days
Situated on the waterfront of ancient Nha Be, Phu My Hung is not only surrounded by rivers but Phu My Hung Spring Road is also winding by the beautiful Crescent Lake formed by the Thay Tieu river. With that particular feature, it can be said that Phu My Hung Spring Flowers Festival has the advantage when it comes to restoring the life on the river of "Nha Be of the old days".
The highlight is a floating stage on the surface of the Crescent Lake following the image of the rafting house, surrounded by a lot of water coconut - the specialty of Nha Be - and under the pier the flower boats lie at anchor, representing the boats of the merchants long time ago.
At this center stage will be the opening ceremony of the Spring Festival, then it will be used as a stage for ethnic music performances throughout the festival, and also for visitors to take photos.
But not only that, dozens of meters of water coconut in the water will be restored as real life right on Spring Road so that visitors can pull up their trousers wading through the water coconut like the native people at the time of reclaiming land and building hamlets. Also on the Spring Road, many of the stilt houses on the waterfront are restored.
Water and creativity
Taking the water as a creative point is the motto of the Spring Flowers Festival inspired by Nha Be waterfront and the South, so you will encounter many creativities from WATER in this Spring Flowers Festival. It may be a RAIN GARDEN, a beautiful, poetic and romantic work of creativity, when the water is elevated to create a light spring rain and visitors can take an umbrella walking in the rain to enjoy the spring feeling and take many new photos. Then there will be RAIN TREES, a garden which is designed vertically with rising water, or a system of water troughs with bamboo tubes connecting like a network that simulates the way water is directed by mountainous people... After those surprising things with water, you will come to the Spring Road as a continuum of features of Vietnam's water economy: water rice paddies, lotus pond, shrimp pond, fish pond, tram mangroves ...
In the past, many boats of the families from Thuan Quang region traveled to the South, on the way through the Soai Rap River to enter Ben Nghe Canal, i.e. the confluence of the Binh Duong River (Nha Be today). It was very hard for them to row the boat upstream, so they anchored the boats in one place waiting for high water to go downstream. At that time boatmen were with hunger, so a rich man named Vu Thu Hoang helped them with bamboo to make rafts on which they built houses, and he had pots, ovens, pans, firewood, fresh water, and food put in the house so that boatmen could use. Gradually, the place formed a village on the raft. From then on it was called Nha Be, and the fork was called Nha Be confluence.
New layout for Spring Road and Spring Garden
In this Spring Festival, a new layout was introduced, creating a continuous connection of Spring Road, Spring Station, Spring Contribution in a single travel line. It is the curvy circle around the Crescent from the Crescent Mall to the Anh Sao Bridge, crossing the bridge and continuing at Canh Doi Park on the other side of the river.
Spring Garden, where "Flowers and Grass of the country" are planted to bring the spirit of the country to the modern city each spring, is a "specialty" of Phu My Hung Spring Flowers Festival. But this time, the Spring Garden is formed in a new location connecting the Spring Road after crossing the Anh Sao Bridge and located in the large Canh Doi Park. A welcome gate stylized from the coconut leaves, which is also the main focus for the entire Spring Garden area when it is used as a climbing scaffold for "flowers and grass of the country". And on the highest hill in the area you will see Tuat, the mascot of six-meter high, which is barking to welcome of a new day. Throughout Spring Road will be a garden of aquatic flowers, the original vegetation of Nha Be area- Sac forest with species such as: mam, mangroves, tru, melaleuca, water coconut, mu u, tram bau, muoi …
In that scene of the spring, there will come the spring spirit of national culture with traditional performances of ethnic melodies, folk processions...
The meaning of the theme "Spring Love of the Rivers”
"Country" ... the sacred word not only because it is the fatherland, but also because it evokes a picture of mountains and rivers, nature, highlighting the substances connecting the soul making one remember the real mountains and rivers, real feelings, so close since childhood ...
In his writing "Word of Water", Master Nguyen Hieu Tin analyzed: "The land is water, the village is also water, the house is water, the soul is water, rice is also water, and puppetry is also water. Water has impacts on the life of the Vietnamese. For the Vietnamese, the image of water is received and fixed in the national language as a code that can interpret the cultural aspect, contributing to the morality of the people to bring the “water soul” imbued in cultural flow of history.
Then the musician sings in the words of the country: “I love the sound of my country / For four thousand years up and down / Crying and laughing with the destiny of the country/ The sound of my country, the voice of my mother since I was born / For thousand years it becomes the sound of my heart ...”
And when Spring comes, in that ecstatic spring spirit there is always the voice of the country calling the traveler, we always recognize that the spirit of the country and that of spring are always close together. Feeling this sense, Phu My Hung Spring Flowers Festival 2018 has the name SPRING LOVE OF THE RIVER, which takes WATER as a highlight for creativity. We can see that WATER here is THE COUNTRY. WATER is also the basic substance of life, so WATER is the VITALITY which means the SPRING of the universe. WATER is THE ENVIRONMENT, which the whole of humanity is concerned. And finally, RIVER is the nature of the South in general and Nha Be, District 7 in particular.
